-> Maintenance
If you have a fire or security system installed it is vitally important that you keep your system maintained and serviced in accordance with the requirements of insurers, police and fire authorities, as well as national legislation such as the Fire Scotland Act 2005. Northern Security Alarms offer annual maintenance packages regardless of whether we actually carried out the installation ourselves. It is essential that your system is subject to periodic inspection and servicing so that unrevealed faults can be identified and preventative measures taken to ensure the continued reliability of the system.

Our maintenance and service department will be glad to add you to our electronic database and ensure that your system receives regular preventative maintenance. Preventative maintenance gives you the peace of mind that your system is being kept in good working order as well as helping you to satisfy the requirements of legislation.
-> Monitoring
Digital Communicator
A Digital Communicator is a device that acts like a modem attached to your intruder alarm and allows it to communicate with the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Digital information can be transmitted to the ARC who can then respond to a signal by calling the police or taking other relevant action.
The Digital communicator is a very cost effective method of achieving a Police response, and is ideal for domestic applications. The only disadvantage of a digital communicator is that if the phone line becomes compromised then communication with the ARC will cease. In some higher security applications, communication via Redcare may be more suitable.
Redcare
BT Redcare Classic monitors property and premises every second of the day by actively checking that your phone line is working. If there are any interruptions a warning signal will be delivered to the alarm receiving centre. This means that your alarm signalling can never be compromised without the knowledge of the alarm receiving centre.
Redcare GSM
Redcare GSM is the most secure alarm signalling service available on the market today. It is what we call ‘dual path signalling’ because it can transmit signals to the ARC using both the landline and a radio path. In addition to this, both paths are continuously monitored making it one of the only signalling systems conforming to Grade 4 of EN 50131. Due to the high level of security this system provides, it is usually the system of choice for insurance companies.
